Rollover Accident in Colorado Kills Driver, Injures Construction Worker

Accidents happen every day in Colorado, but some accidents are much more likely than others to cause serious or fatal injuries. Rollover accidents, for example, can be especially dangerous for those who are involved in a collision. A rollover accident can result in drivers and passengers inside of the vehicle being crushed or otherwise sustaining serious and potentially fatal injuries. Others who are around the vehicle that rolls over are also at risk.

After a rollover accident, it is important for those who are hurt or for individuals who have lost a loved one to take legal action. A Colorado Springs injury law firm can provide legal representation to victims after rollover collisions cause injury or result in a wrongful death occurring. Rollover Accident Causes Fatality and Serious Injury

Just recently, KDVR reported on a tragic rollover accident that resulted in one driver losing his or her life and another person being hurt.  The incident occurred in Colorado, close to Interstate 25 and 114th Avenue. A black Chevrolet Camaro vehicle was on the exit ramp when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The Camaro rolled over several times after the driver lost control, ultimately rolling into a construction zone. The car hit a worker who was in the construction zone, injuring the worker. The construction worker was described by press reports as being in critical condition and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.  The name, age, and gender of the construction worker had not been released at the time of the KDVR report.

The driver who was in the Camaro unfortunately also was badly hurt in the accident. The driver of the Camaro died at the collision scene as a result of the injuries sustained in the accident. The Camaro driver's name, age, and gender have also not yet been released, according to KDVR.

News reports indicate that the cause of the rollover accident is still currently under investigation.  However, authorities reportedly do not think that the driver of the Camaro was intoxicated by alcohol or drugs at the time when the accident occurred. Intoxication is often a common cause of rollover accidents because drivers who are impaired by drugs and alcohol may not be able to remain in control of their vehicles and the cars can roll over as a result.

Speeding, especially going around curves, is also a contributing factor to rollover accidents although the reports on the incident do not indicate whether the Camaro driver was speeding or whether the crash is being investigated as a speed-related incident.  Vehicles that are top heavy are also more likely to roll over when things go wrong.

Determining the crash cause will be important because those who are to blame for the accident and injuries could potentially be held accountable by those who were injured or by surviving family members of victims killed. To find out more, a Colorado Springs injury law firm can provide assistance to victims and their families.
